Monday Musings

 Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend!! We had another relaxing weekend spent shopping, having a fantastic dinner with friends and watching movies. Bliss! This week is my son's last week of school, so we're scrambling around getting ready for the summer and an upcoming weekend full of birthday parties! Fun!! Anyway, I just have to tell you that the Lavender/Sea Infinity Scarf  I ordered through Plum District came today and it is GORGEOUS! It's light, soft and the colors are so pretty! It's so lightweight it could easily be worn in the spring or fall, even cool summer nights. If you liked the scarf when I last posted about it, now is the time to snap it up! There's a 20% off discount valid today by adding code PDBDAY at checkout. That makes this beauty only $12.80 (SH included there)! Speaking of steals, I was perusing Target today and look at this amazing lookalike I came across...

Mossimo Poeske Flat
Looks almost identical to these DV Archer Flats! Granted there are a couple small differences - the gold toebed is missing, and the straps are a tiny bit different, but the general look is still the same! Love them!!! They come in pink too <3

On another, completely irrelevant note.... Did you watch the season premier of True Blood last night?! I was so excited!!! It's one of my fav shows!!! Alrhough I have to say that I'm not too sure with all the weird stuff going on this season. Last year was quite enough with all the witch stuff. But I'll def still watch. How could get my Eric Northman fix otherwise?!

And with today being Monday, you know what that means! Bachelorette is on tonight & I'll be live tweeting throughout! If you watch the show, I would love to watch it with you!!! Make sure to look me up - @Christy1225. I have to admit that this season is kinda boring, but reading everyone's comments (including past contestants) makes it so much more fun! I'll be back tomorrow with my recap of the show!!!

ps - speaking of the Bachelor/Bachelorette.... Did anyone hear the rumors that Roberto is the next Bachelor??? From what I've read they are definitely accurate and will be announced in a couple weeks on Emily's season. I personally prefer when they have past contestants compete, especially if they were a fan favorite. I think Roberto will def make an interesting Bachelor and I'm sure whatever girls are competing for his affection will bring pure drama! What do you think???

The Last Thing Thursdays #2

 I had so much going on yesterday that I totally missed my post, oh well... =( Well today is The Last Thing Thursday with The Life of the Wife and I'm linking up again!

{  I Wanted to Buy... }

We're in the process of renovating our kitchen and I have so many things I want to buy to update it! We are long overdue!!! I can't wait to finally get started. Let's hope it looks as pretty as my mood board when it's done!

{  Watched on DVD...  }

Last night we watched Gone with Amanda Seyfried. I thought it looked good and other than the semi anti-climactic ending, it lived up to my expectations! Def a decent movie to rent!!

{  Bought - Accessories...  }

Plum District has this gorgeous Pashmina Infinity Scarf online (available for the next 6 days) today! I LOVE scarves so I just couldn't passs this up. It was a steal at $15 (reg $38) and only $2.80 shipping. I got the one in the middle, called Lavender/Sea. So so pretty!!!

{  Was Obsessed Over...  }

I've been on Instagram forever, but never used it much except to add a bit of character to my own photo's, but lately I've really been going crazy over it! I don't have too many pics on there just yet, but I'm getting the hang of it!! Make sure to look me up - @sparklesandspinach

{  Craved...  }

{ Photo Via }
I majorly heart cupcakes!!! Like big, fat, puffy, pink heart them! A couple weeks ago we got a few vegan cupcakes from Whole Foods to try and they were so good!!! I'm not vegan, but I really limit my dairy & meat intake, so I often opt for vegan treats. They would have been even better if they were g-free, but I can tolerate a little gluten now & then. I def think a cupcake run is in order this weekend!

It's almost Friday!!! Yay!

Bachelorette Recap #4

Another episode of Bachelorette is in the books, and I have to be honest.... This season, with the exception of Emily looking gorgeous and wearing the cutest outfits, is just not what I thought it would be. I don't know if the guys are a little boring, or if there's just not enough excitement. I do know one thing these men aren't lacking... drama. I have never seen such a whiny group of guys! Not all of them, but there are def a select few repeat offenders. Anyway....

The one-on-one's were blah. I think Doug seems like a nice guy, but there's just something about him. Something that he seems like he's hiding. Emily is def a smart cookie because everything I was saying to my husband, as well as everyone tweeting, she was echoing right after. I don't think these guys are getting anything past her. I'm wondering as far as Doug is concerned if it's his temper. He seems to go from 0 to 60 very easily. And I don't know why he seems to think he's above all the other guys. I mean he's 33 or whatever he is, not 43. It's all about maturity and if he had so much of it, he would spend more time impressing Emily than judging the other guys.

Next was the group date/ boat race. I was so bored by this point, I wasn't paying too much attention. I was too busy on Twitter reading all the comments and glanced up a couple times. I just remember angry guys, poor sports, crying and jerkface Ryan making his nauseating comments. Oh and Emily looking super adorable as usual! Moving on...

{ Via ABC }
Emily's super-awkward date with the Wolf and Nate. Again, not too much going on here. I feel for Emily because not only do these dates just seem like they are so awful (everyone knowing someone will go home at the end of it) but this date in particular was just so odd. I'm sure these guys were just very nervous (ahem... Nate) but my goodness. I truly thought she was going to send both of them home. It was obvious that nothing was going to happen with Nate, but with the Wolf? C'mon. Who actually goes on TV and calls himself "Wolf" anyway. That guy!! It's a shame because the guy isn't bad looking, he just set himself up for failure.

{ Via ABC }
Even though Emily and Arie didn't have much one-on-one time, the chemistry between them was just oozing from the TV. These two seem like they've been dating forever! They just seem to have a connection. He is obviously very protective of Emily and their interactions are charming. I do like Arie. Someone tweeted last night that they thought Arie seemed a little feminine. There's been something that's been bugging me about him from the start, and I think that might be it. I've always liked him, thought he was very cute, etc. But yes, in my opinion he does come off a touch feminine. Not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe it's that Euro blood. I don't know. I can't tell if Arie is for real yet. I guess only time will tell.  For Emily's sake, I hope so!

{ Via ABC }
And wasn't this whole thing with Jef & Emily so strange? I don't know if he just wigged out and got super shy or what. He seems like a nice guy and I hate to judge someone by appearance, but even though he's 27, he just seems like he's so young. Like a Man-boy. Don't get me wrong.... I think Jef is cute and seems really cool.... but in a boyish sort of way. I'm just having trouble getting past that. But then again, Jef hasn't had a ton of screen time, so it's hard to tell.

All in all, the episode was just eh. Ryan took up a lot of the show with his creepy speeches, egotistical remarks, and just grossness in general. I knew he was only going on the show to try to be the next Bachelor and I can tell you right now, if that toolbag ever was, I will not watch. He makes me wanna vom. No... just no....

I'm still Team Sean all the way!!! I think they seem the most suited for one another and he is the total package. I'm crossing my fingers that Emily will choose him in the end, but unfortunately I just have this feeling that she won't. What did you think of the show? Make sure to check out the other gals in the Bachelorette Dish link-up!!!

Monday Musings

 This weekend went by so fast! I can't believe it's Monday already!! We had a very relaxing couple days just spending time together as a family. It was so nice!! It's been a few weeks and this was the first weekend in a while we just got to kick back without having to run all over or for my Husband to go to work. But yesterday brought a slightly stressful end to an otherwise wonderful couple days. My son was riding his bike and found a fledgling blackbird by the curb. It had fallen out of it's nest and it was way too high to put him back. So I rescued him & put him in an old robin nest in our plum tree. Mom found him & was feeding him, but then it started storming, so I took a little basket & made a nest and put him in the bushes with a shelter over top. Poor thing. I was so scared I would find him dead this morning, but he's ok! =) Today he is back in the plum tree with his makeshift nest and an umbrella I shoved over top into the branches since it's supposed to rain the next couple of days. Here's hoping he survives the rain & slight chill. I'm such a HUGE animal lover, I'll be so upset if he doesn't make it. Please keep your fingers crossed for little tweeter!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend as much as I did! My Son only has about 1 1/2 weeks of school left & I am counting down the days!! Even though I know he'll drive me crazy over the summer, it'll be nice to spend so much time with him and not have the pressure of school. Make sure to stop back tomorrow for my Bachelorette Recap! Yay!!!

Friday's Fancies - Rock the White!

Happy happy Friday Lovelies! I'm linking up with Long Distance Loving again today for Friday's Fancies!! This link-up is always such a fun end to the week. I waited until the last minute again to find the look, but I found the most gorgeous dress! I hope you like it!!

I found this gorgeous dress and pulled the look together around it! Gold is my favorite way to accent most summer styles and I loved the idea of creating a DIY wrap bracelet (I would create a lighter colored version). I also love these shoes!!! I'll have to see if I can find a look for less so they fit into my summer shoe budget ; )

I'm looking forward to a very relaxing weekend of gardening and spending time with the fam! This is the first weekend in a while that my Hubby doesn't have to work, so it'll be nice to have some quality time. Enjoy your weekend!!!

ps - What Mimi Writes is having a $100 Shopbop GC giveaway! Make sure to stop by and check it out!
